Our Services

Home Care clinical services can be provided, if a skilled clinical need exists. The homecare services provided by the VNA of Rhode Island are provided on an intermittent basis. Clinicians will visit your home to provide a treatment of care or do an assessment. Usually the assessments would take an hour and a half; treatment visits take an average of an hour.

  • Licensed Nursing Care - The VNA of Rhode Island employs nurse practitioners, RNs, LPNs and certified specialty nurses to provide you with the most competent care available.
  • Cardiac Therapy - We are the only home care organization in the area to offer cardiac IV therapy. Now those recuperating from heat surgery or in need of cardiac rehabilitation may do so without an extended hospital or nursing home stay.
  • Infusion Therapy - Patients receiving chemotherapy treatments can do so in the comfort of their home with our highly skilled Infusion Therapy nursing delivering the care and treatments.
  • Wound Care - Our Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse offers ostomy care, management and instruction.
  • Rehabilitation Services - Our certified speech, physical and occupational therapists help people regain maximum independence following an accident or illness. Our Rehab Team:
  • Care Management - Our highly skilled staff coordinate all aspects of patient care and maintain constant communication with patients, their physicians, and other caregivers.
  • Social Services - Our social services personnel help families with the financial, enviornmental and emotional questions that often accompany illness or injury.
  • Hospice and Palliative Care - Our staff of nurses, social workers, bereavement and spiritual counselors provide experienced and compassionate end-of-life care. Our program bridge program allows patients to have the same nursing and personal care staff when they transition from Palliative to Hospice. For more information about our Hospice program, please see our website http://www.hospicevnari.org
  • Daily Monitoring - Our telehealth monitoring system offers the security of knowing that vital signs are monitored on a daily basis. This communication device allows us to detect even small changes in health status to prevent a chronic condition from escalating into something more serious. Rather than "watching" the patient on a video monitor, the system sends information about vital signs, weight changes, and responses to questions customized for the patient goals.
  • Multi-Level Care - Our services range from complex medical care to assistance with daily activities, such as meal preparation and personal grooming.
  • Personal Care - Our Certified Nursing Assistants support the plan of care outlined by the Case Manager and Physician. Personal grooming and help with transferring are some of the services that may be offered. Our CNAs are experienced, long-term employees who offer the caring, compassionate service on which our agency was founded.
  • Private Duty - Our affiliate, VNA Support Services, offers block-time personal care. While some insurance carriers cover private duty care, most do not, so the services are paid for privately by the patient or family. Our Certified Nursing Assistants are trained to provide personal grooming, transferring of patients, medication reminders, light meal preparation and light house work. A plan of care would be designed for the patient by one of our skilled clinical professionals.
